'You can't force a child to learn,- but you can create an environment where learning feels safe, meaningful and possible.'

Our Services:
Alternative Provision

SEH provides flexible, inclusive alternative provision; commissioned by schools or local authorities, our offer includes bespoke timetables, academic support, mentoring, and holistic enrichment.
We work with children and young people aged 4–25, offering everything from early literacy support to GCSE and A-level preparation. Our provision includes AQA Unit Awards and targeted academic interventions across core subjects and creative disciplines. Our staff team includes qualified teachers, former heads of department, examiners, and mental health specialists — all experienced in low-arousal, relationship-led practice with extensive experience in SEND, SEMH, and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA).
We support both short-term placements (e.g. stabilisation, bridging, or reintegration) and longer-term provision. Sessions can take place at our premises, in the home, online, or in the community, guided by what will help the learner engage and succeed. Regular reporting, contributions to EHCP and multi-agency reviews, and parent/carer liaison are standard parts of our collaborative model.
Our offer also includes a structured gaming strand, available to learners from Key Stage 3 to young adults. This can be delivered as a social development package, a therapeutic engagement tool, or a creative vehicle for embedding core skills. Activities include tabletop games, role-play games like Dungeons & Dragons, and strategic games like Warhammer, with links to AQA Unit Awards in storytelling, maths, teamwork, and communication. For some learners, this strand becomes a crucial bridge into formal learning — and for others, it’s a safe, motivating space to connect and grow.

Collaborative Work

We work in partnership with schools, charities, and community organisations to co-create meaningful educational opportunities. From targeted workshops and tutoring for specific cohorts (e.g. school refusers or young carers), to delivering bespoke sessions within your setting, we help extend your reach and impact.
SEH can also design and deliver interest-led or wellbeing-focused enrichment sessions that support engagement, regulation, and confidence — including creative literacy, numeracy through gaming, and PSHE delivery. We welcome collaboration and are always happy to explore new ways to work together in service of shared goals.
Tuition

Our tuition offer provides high-quality, relationship-based learning for young people aged 4–25. Whether you're a home-educating family or looking to supplement school provision, we offer 1:1 and small group sessions that adapt to each learner's pace, interests, and goals. Our tutors are qualified teachers with experience across mainstream, specialist, and alternative education.
We offer academic support from early literacy and numeracy right through to GCSE and A-level preparation, including targeted interventions and specialist pathways like Functional Skills and AQA Unit Awards. Sessions can take place at our premises or online, and always prioritise connection, confidence-building, and learner voice.

Advocacy and Support
We know that it can feel overwhelming when navigating the education, health, and care system. SEH offers experienced, practical support with EHCPs, DLA applications, diagnostic pathways, school placement queries, and more — always delivered with warmth and understanding.
We provide both 1:1 and group-based support, including offers such as free workshops to help complete DLA forms. Some of this support is available at no cost through our Uplift strand — see our Social Commitment section for more details.
Whether you’re seeking advice, struggling to be heard, or need to check your rights, we’re here to help.
